British Council Ghana on behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) cordially invites you to our maiden Commonwealth Public Lecture. 

The event will be held on Friday 23 November 2018 at the British Council, 11 Liberia Road, Accra from 18:00 to 20:00. The theme for the public lecture is “The role of Science and Technology for Peace and Development”.

The Public lecture will be delivered by Mr Francis Kemausuor, a senior lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and also a Commonwealth Scholar.Mr Kemausuor holds an MPhil in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK and a PhD in Bioengineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The purpose of the lecture is to:

  • Strengthen public awareness on the role of science for peace and development
  • Draw attention to the challenges faced by science
  • Raise support for scientific ventures
  • Set-up working groups to tackle some of the challenges faced by science highlighted in the discussion
